On Friday at approximately 3:42pm, police responded to a Pembroke Pines crash that claimed the life of a 90-year-old woman. This accident took place at 1800 North University Drive.
The driver, 43-year-old Kristal Millingen, was going southbound on University Drive in her 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage. 90-year-old Iliana Rosario was crossing this street outside of a designated crosswalk, per the police.
Police state that Rosario was struck after walking into the path of the oncoming vehicle. The victim was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, and as a result of her injuries, she died at the hospital. Information about the extent of her injuries is not known at this time.
It has not been stated whether or not the driver sustained any injuries as a result of this accident. It is also not stated whether or not she was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
No information about the driver’s condition or state of mind after the accident has been released to the public. The police appear to want to ensure a full investigation is completed before releasing any further information on this case.
